Physicians inject a concentrate of platelets, called platelet rich plasma, accelerate to the healing process. (Platelets contain a wide range of growth factors and proteins that are necessary for the healing process.)

Platelet rich plasma is obtained by a surgeons, nurse or technician taking a sample of a patient's blood. The sample is placed into a centrifuge, which separates the blood components by density. The red blood cells (RBCs) are denser and move to the bottom. The plasma fraction is the least dense and floats to the top layer. The "buffy coat" which contains the majority of platelets is sandwiched between the RBCs and plasma.

The PRP is isolated, centrifuged, activated and re-injected into the patient at the wound site by an all-in-one disposable device
